“There’s so much community spirit…”

The pace of any busy medical practice can sometimes be overwhelming, but Noosa Civic Family Practice runs like a well-oiled machine. 

The surgery has been in place as one of the original tenancies but it has changed significantly since then. In its current form it is 3 years old and has grown extensively now housing 10 GP’s, 4 Nurses, 7 reception staff, 2 allied health workers and of course Karen Bishop, Practice Manager.  “It’s a very busy environment,” Karen said “we are a Bulk Billing practice and we see up to 160 patients a day, 90% of these people are regulars which is really great.”  Word of mouth has been a very important part of the massive growth over the past 3 years. “Everybody seems really happy here and there’s so much community spirit, we’ve also had great support from Centre Management during our change process.” 

Having undergone a major refurbishment 3 months ago the reception area is modern and roomy with plenty of information on hand for waiting patients.  This practice has a known Chronic Disease management service and will very soon be able to provide the latest in skin cancer monitoring.  With Harrisons pharmacy right next door, Healthcare at Noosa Civic is very simply solved.
